mission statement

About:

Durban Collective is a collaboration of diverse, free-thinking individuals, and like-minded organisations. It's an entity comprised of experienced people, groups and companies, that have been involved in the local creative arts scene for a long time. Our purpose is to manifest what we already believe; that Durban is a hive of creative minds, and has tremendous potential. Collectively, we can transform Durban into one of the leading cities globally, in terms of creative arts. Our undying love and loyalty for this city has welded us into one heart, with one mission – Durban Collective.

Mission statement:

Durban Collective aims to be a consulting body, that offers solutions within a creative industry, for its members, various stakeholders (business sector, media and local government), as well as for the Durban community at large. Our goal is to make creative arts, in all its diversified forms, a sustainable industry. In such a manner that all individuals involved can contribute towards Durban's creative industry, economic growth, and poverty alleviation – improving our city's overall identity. The collective will strive, at all times, to empower its members with the necessary skills, experience and support, to ensure that our immediate goals are accomplished. For us to reach a thousand miles, a first step must be taken. Therefore, we acknowledge the significance of achieving our short term goals, and collectively, we view them as crucial steps towards our long term vision.

Values:

Honesty – we believe in total transparency within our collective.

Equality – no one's word is worth more than another's.

Team Work – we understand that the only way we can achieve our goals is by working together. No individual is as strong as the collective.

To Be An action Orientated Collective – There's no point having a dream if you're not going to act on it.
